Learning Sciences International is seeking a Sales and Marketing Director to coordinate our product, sales, marketing, and business intelligence teams. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic marketing, sales, and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets in the field of teacher and school leadership evaluation and development products and services.
Duties:Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
• Coordinates marketing team, sales team, business intelligence, creative, and product development team for an aligned strategic plan
• Plans and oversees sales outreach, advertising, and promotion including email, print, web, electronic media, and direct mail
• Develops and recommends product positioning to produce the highest possible long-term market share
• Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends
• Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
• Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
• Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
• Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management
• Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
• Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
• With the CFO, directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
• Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
• Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
• Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units
• Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
• Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
• Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
• Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
• With Senior executives, helps direct product research and development
Qualifications:EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business
• Minimum of five years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities
• Demonstrated sales record in previous capacity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to sit, walk and stand for short periods of time with breaks
• Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature
• Ability to view monitors over 2/3 of the time and reports and communicate with others
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items over 2/3 of the time
• General office environment lifting of files up to 10 lbs. 1/3 to 2/3 of the time
• Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
• Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
• Overnight travel (up to 50%) by land and/or air
